On 27 June 2025, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) launched a public consultation on 1 potential Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC). The proposed substance in the consultation is listed below. The deadline for commenting is 11 August 2025.

If SVHC substances are present in an article placed on the EU/EEA market in a concentration above 0.1% (1000 mg/kg) w/w, the EU/EEA supplier of that article needs to submit a SCIP notification to ECHA under the EU Waste Framework Directive (WFD, Directive 2008/98/EC).
